Instructions for Friday. Nov 30th!Please welcome Ms.Haworth to the class!
Your task today is to find some dialogue for our hip hop routine. Here is the steps you can choose to follow: 1. Research different hip hop songs related to our theme. Remember we are just looking for DIALOGUE! 2. On youtube - watch videos about the program "Audacity". There are many tutorials that will show you how to cut certain parts of music out to only leave the dialogue. 3. Use youtube to mp3 convertor and save the song that you like (that has the dialogue in it) in your documents. 4. Open the program Audacity - click open and load the song into Audacity (needs to be mp3 file. 5. Now - you want to cut out all the music that you DO NOT WANT. It is as simple as highlighting the areas you want deleted and pressing delete. You should have just he dialogue left. Save your project when you are done! Save it as an audacity file and next week we will learn how to convert them. if time permits!!!! This is a great chance to start your own choreo for your choreography project! Pick your song, style and start to gather ideas. You can research different videos to find ideas of what you may want to teach. Remember the goal is to challenge our classmates - i.e. let's not learn the chicken dance! :) Have a great weekend! See you all on Monday! Thursday, January 24th WKC DANCE RECITAL RBC COMMONS 7:00 P.M. Dance NewsDear Families,
The dance program at WKC will be having one major performance this year. It will be an end of semester dance recital which takes place on JANUARY 24TH, 2013 @ 7:00 P.M. in the R.B. Commons at WKC. Please feel free to invite friends and family. Rush seating, no tickets required. All students enrolled in a dance class as well as members of Zero Gravity Dance Team are required to attend this performance. Consider this performance equivalent to a year-end exam. Throughout the semester we will be working on a variety of dance routines to create a final product – the dance recital. Performance is a very important component of dancing. This performance will provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their learning of choreography, performance skills and dance techniques in a live audience setting which will contribute to each and every student taking part in a dance experience which they can value. Throughout the semester we will also do some practice performances leading up to this event. The first performance will be at the Halloween pep rally on October 31st at 1:00. All dance students will perform a routine that we have been working on for the month of October. All of the performances as well as the recital will all contribute to each student’s grade. A certain percentage is allotted to each performance – therefore it is important that both students and parents/guardians understand the importance of these performances. There will be more information regarding the recital provided closer to the event. Students will be required to take part in a dress rehearsal where costumes will be a necessary. You will not need to purchase anything – we will be discussing ideas within each class to choose particular colors and styles of clothing that will be suitable for the routines. Please read this over with your son/daughter and return the bottom portion. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me: [email protected] or 339-6959. |
